Nourish Flourish Nutrition Coaching
I heart holistic health. We must nourish to flourish! I advocate clean-green eating habits and believe that chemical-free whole-foods are essential. No gimmicks, no faddish fasts, no yo-yo weight loss.
As mentioned on my About page, I have taken courses and workshops through Precision Nutrition and Bauman College to begin my formal training and education on nutrition and I expect to receive my official certification from Precision Nutrition in September 2012.
Plus, over the past several years I have invested 100's of hours learning about sustainable agriculture, ranching, and fishing. The more I learn, the deeper my commitment grows to sustainably-raised foods to keep people and the planet as pure as possible.
On my Links page, I explain why my VitaMix blender is the key to my commitment to consume copious quantities of cruciferous and colorful veggies, and clients concur--it's a RAW nutrition revolution.

Say No to GMO & Hello to O(ganics)
There is so much misinformation out there that I've become quite cavalier in countering claims about conventional agribusiness and factory farming. Movies like "Supersize Me", "The Meatrix", and "Store Wars" helped raise my awareness years ago, and I've been an ardent advocate ever since.
Though I've considered myself "in shape" most of my life, I'm proud to be leaner and more fit now than ever before. For years my idea of a "normal" breakfast was the Triple Double: 2 eggs, 2 pancakes with syrup, and 2 sausages...Now in my late 30's, I am 20 lbs slimmer than I was at the heaviest point in my 20's.
Thanks to better diet, discipline, and discovery, I learned that "while exercise is important and crucial for weight loss, the foods you choose to eat are THREE times more important for controlling your weight than your exercise." Curious or confused by that statistic? Read this article on Diet & Exercise Myths.
Indeed, after reading about artificial growth hormones administered to cows and chickens to "plump 'em up", I decided to stop eating any meat, dairy, or eggs from animals that had been injected with these hormones. By not eating anything that has been "plumped up", I slimmed down! That's right, without dieting, the ~20 lbs came off in a year, and I've kept it off. I believe this is directly attributable to regulating my natural hormones and achieving better balance in my body by minimizing artificial or synthetic ingredients.
Still unsure about whether it's worth the extra money to go organic? Click the link for a comprehensive explanation that makes the value proposition abundantly clear. Also, please see my blog post on the dangers of genetically modified foods. With the vast majority of our food supply tainted by GMO's, can you afford the long term health risk of not eating organic is perhaps a more apt question.

Nutritional science in the last twenty years has demonstrated that colorful plant foods contain a huge assortment of protective compounds, most of which still remain unnamed.
